The Lord and I stood side by side as this scene (minus the rose at first) formed out of the darkness. I stared in shocked amazement at the desolation and barrenness that lay before me. What is this awful place? I asked. This is your life He replied. Horrified I looked away and clamored within as I tried to understand the meaning of His words.

My life? Nearly half a century on earth and this is what it adds up to? All my efforts, giving it every thing I had and this was it? Burned by fire, ravaged by the storms of life & time, this is all that remained; not one sign of life or one thing of beauty.

I looked again and was startled to see a single red rose rising from the ash heap of works that lay on the floor of my life. What is that rose? I asked. It wasn’t there before. That is your willingness, He said. I pulled the deed to my life from my pocket, quickly signed it and handed it to Him. Here is the deed to my life, I give it to you. Level it to the ground if you must. From here on out, you build my life, only don’t let this happen to me on that day (The day of judgement).
